Straightener

Ladies...

I need a new straightener! I have no idea what to get. I have heard great things about Chi Straighteners and several others but I am THE MOST INDECISIVE PERSON EVER! I am willing to invest in a good one. I loved the last one I had. It worked for about 4 years but I am ready for something new and GOOD! I have naturally straight as a board hair but the ends do this funky wave thing so it's really just for the ends :) HELP!

I am open to any and all suggestions!

What is your fave?? What is the cost?? And where can I find the fabulousness?

My roommate and I both bought our CHI's here: http://www.amazon.com/Farouk-CHI-Inch-Ceramic-Hairstyling/dp/B0009V1YR8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1242954519&sr=8-1

We love them!

Definitely a Chi. I invested in one a year ago, and I even have naturally straight hair. It heats up within seconds (not exaggerating), and only takes one swoop to straighten the section of hair. My cousin who has naturally curly hair loves hers, and she said it only takes one swoop to get her hair straight too!

I know Ulta was running a special on Chi's last week. Might still be going on?

I have this one http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_d1560.html
It is amazing and I've had it for about 3 years now. It has never once snagged my hair and it's better than the Chi :)

I would definitely recommend the Chi! However, I would not buy the red Turbo one. I bought that one thinking it would be better because it was more expensive than the regular black one. But, now I think the black one is much better!

I'm also looking to buy a CHI straighter and was wondering what the difference was btwn the $240 black one at Sephora and the $69 black on on the amazon link posted above?

Well, pretty much everyone said to get a Chi, but I figured I'd give you my two cents as well! I have a T3 Tourmaline and I absolutely love it - I've had it for several years. It was pricey, maybe around $175? But totally worth it! Especially if you divide the price by the number of times you'll use it...mmm yeah. That's how I like to figure out my shopping. :)

I have a croc and I love it... I had a chi and loved it but the croc gets my freezey hair even straighter:)

I don't have a Chi, but clearly am missing the boat! I have one from Sally Beauty- don't recall the name, but it works well for me.
As for the GHD, that is actually what my hairdresser suggested and said it was the best one out there, so I don't know!

i got a chi from my mom as a hand-me-down about 3 or so years ago and she had it for a year (cut all her hair off didn't need it anymore) and it still works great! i've dropped it a gazillion times too!

So I pretty much gave up on straightening my hair. I have embraced the curl, so I can't give a recommendation. The flat iron I do have was maybe $20 so I don't really use it and can't justify the expense since I like my curly hair and probably wouldn't use it enough. HOWEVER, my sister has crazy curly hair and has a croc and loves it! Her hair is super straight and she swears it changed her life!

Megilon said...

I had a Chi and loved it until it died. And then I tried something even more amazing...the ghd IV and it is the best flat iron I've ever used. I have incredibly curly and thick hair and it looks like completely different hair when I'm done.

The Chi straigtener is AMAZING! I have this hair thats really wavy and naturally curly, and if I'm not careful becomes VERY frizzy if I straighten it.. but the Chi has been my lifesaver.. its also good if you use some kind of the Chi therma-protect products also.. But yeah, like everyone else, I highly recommend the Chi.. but I paid wayy too much for mine! haha.

The Chi ..... I love mine. I got it on folica.com.

I have super thick, curly hair and Chis have for some reason never worked for me. I swear by my Solano Sapphire. I have had mine for eight years and it is still in perfect condition. They run around $100-$150 and are worth the investment!!

Mrs. Newlywed said...

I don't straighten, because my hair is naturally poker straight.

However, one of my good friends is a stylist, and she lives and dies by the CHI.

KLC said...

I have naturally straightish hair, but I need volume. My mom bought me the "In styler" a few months ago, and since then I haven't touched my straightener once!!! It's an "as seen on tv" thing and its kinds expensive but its INCREDIBLE! google it :)

I just bought a T3 Pro Wet-or-Dry Iron from Nordstrom and I LOVE it! It is definitely worth the $120. And it's bright pink...don't know if that's a plus or a minus in your book... :)

I have had my CHI since 2002 and I would die without it! :) Ulta sells them if you have an Ulta store in your area. Or maybe you have already gotten one since this post! Hehe
