My angel in 4-D

Hey ladies. So Friday, Adam and I had our 4-D appointment! My parents and his parents met us there and I was SO excited to see my baby girl!!

And to be quite honest, I had a few moments of anxiety about her gender. When we went for our 20 week appointment to find out if we were having a boy or girl. I was sure it was a boy. But the tech (who had been doing it for 30 years) told us girl although she never spread her little legs. Well, I have been worried since... saving all receipts for clothing and even putting off ordering baby bedding until I was 1000 & sure!
Well at our 4-D the tech said, "DEFINITELY A GIRL. Look, there's her tutu!" I cracked up!
So we are definitely 10,000% having a girl! And we can't wait to meet the sweet angel!

The name we have chosen is: Addison Leigh

We chose this name for a reason! Addison means "child of Adam" and that's my husband's name and Leigh was my middle name before I dropped it to keep my maiden name! So her name has sweet meaning to us!

We will call her Addison. And so will everyone else :) ha! I realize as she gets older her friends may call her Addie or some other nickname but until I lose control of that name situation, she will be ADDISON! And I will correct people :)

I know she is my child and everyone thinks this about their child but she is PERFECT! I mean absolutely beautiful! We can't wait to meet her and introduce her to the world :)

She weighs 1 lb 12 ounces right now. And it 11.5 inches long! AMAZING! My baby is a growin!
After the 4-D appointment, we hit up some stores and went nuts buying clothes :) If you knew my mom and I and our skills at shopping, you would understand all the chaos that is this child's wardrobe already! :) BEAUTIFUL things for a BEAUTIFUL girl!

Other things going on:
- I ordered her bedding yesterday, which I will keep a secret until her room in finished :) Then I will share the awesomeness of the company I used and their representative here in GA!

- We are still waiting on the two replaced pieces of furniture that arrived to our house damaged! I am getting VERY impatient!

- Her closet is starting to fill up quick! I will share some of my favorite outfits soon!

- She is definitely going to either be a cheerleader, soccer player, dance line girl or something. She's kicking me like CRAZY! It's the sweetest feeling :)

Thank you girls for all of your thoughts and prayers!! :) Here are the 4-D pics from Friday!

Puckering up!

One loved baby!

A sweet grin from our angel!

Perfect little face!

And true!

Women are like apples on a tree! The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they're afraid of falling and getting hurt. So instead, they just take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy to get... The apples at the top of the tree think there's something wrong with them, when, in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along - one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.

Men, on the other hand, are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes... and it's up to women to stomp the shit out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

This made me giggle and I thought I would share!! Perfect for all of my single friends out there! This is so so true!!

As my sweet friend Brittany put it today...

Dear Monday,

You really like to try and ruin my relationships with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, don't you? You're like that obnoxious friend who interrupts our conversation with, "What are you guys talking about? Huh? Huh?!" and then proceeds to tell lame jokes that only you laugh at...

Your Obligated Friend

Holy Cow... WOW WOW WOW!

Do you want me to make your Friday??? Are you ready for some serious good news??? This is HUGE! Hands down, the best news I have heard in the shopping/fashion world since I found out Alexander McQueen was designing a line for Target! The best part is I won't be pregnant anymore when this happens!! So I will actually get to shop for some NON MATERNITY clothes :) yay!

Are you ready??? Sure???

November 14th to be exact! I told you this was HUGE! The only thing is... they are only putting his designs in 200 of their stores! I mean HELLO, I love me some Jimmy Choo and we have an H&M in Atlanta and I am PRAYING that it's one of the stores that gets this! HELLO CHRISTMAS PRESENTS :)

I have always admired JC handbags and shoes so much! I finally got a pair of black stiletto knee boots back in 06 and I only wear them on special occasions :) ha! They are awesome! So I can't wait to see what he comes out with for this line!! I am sure it will be ultra sheek and so ME! I am hoping it's priced reasonably so I can afford a few things! I mean, I will have a new precious baby girl and all. (I wonder if they will carry JC baby clothes... ha-how awesome would that be??)

Just wanted to share the news with my lovely blog friends out there!! When I read this... I almost peed my pants, THAT, my friends is how excited I am! (well and I am pregnant and having to tee tee a lot) ha!

The Company You Keep

I've noticed that since I got pregnant some of our "friends" have fallen off the face of the earth! We don't ever hear from them or see them! It's so strange to me, but it's part of life I suppose! Now, granted that a good many of these friends are single, not married, no kids! So I guess it's to be expected a little! I mean... they are at the bars getting all crazy and we are at home, nesting and house renovating :)

I got this email this morning and it really hit home with me so I thought I would share! It has great wisdom and really made me think! I am constantly evaluating the company that I keep. I need/want friends that enrich my life, not bring me down! I have spoke before about how when I moved to GA I never really gained that many GOOD friends. I have a few but it's strange coming from a place where I had so many! So this email really made me thankful for the few I have!! :)

It Is Better To Be Alone, Than In The Wrong Company.

Tell me who your best friends are, and I will tell you who you are.

If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl. But, if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.

A mirror reflects a man’s face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses.

The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom you closely associate for the good and the bad. The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve.

Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity.

An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people.

As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are.

Friends that don't help you climb will want you to crawl.

Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream.

Those that don't increase you will eventually decrease you.

Consider This:
Never receive counsel from unproductive people.
Never discuss your problems with someone incapable of contributing to the solution, because those who never succeed themselves are always first to tell you how.
Not everyone has a right to speak into your life.
You are certain to get the worst of the bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person.
Don't follow anyone who's not going anywhere.
With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it.
Be careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life.
Wise is the person who fortifies his life with the right friendships.
Choose to rise...Don't settle...and go for your dreams!!! And most of all let God lead you in everything you do.
"Do not ask God to order your footsteps, if you are not willing to move your feet."

I am taking...

... any and all suggestions on crib bedding for our little girl!

I keep going back and forth on what I like, what I want, blah blah blah!! So I am bringing my indecisiveness to my blog and begging (at this point I am not above this) for some advice! I literally, am pleading for your help!

Send me some websites you like or point me in some kind of direction! I don't know why, but this decision is been the toughest one yet.

Her grandparents will be called: Grammy, Paw, Nana & Papa

So many things have already been decided so why is this so dang hard???

It's a Daizy Birthday

Today is my sweet Daizy's 4th birthday!! We will be celebrating with many doggie treats and her traditional birthday hamburger! :)

Although some may call her strange, she really is the sweetest dog. She loves to kiss and she is a total lap dog!!

She has a slight nervous disorder, but she wouldn't be mean to a soul!! She is so lovable and shows me and her dad lots of love by licking us constantly... ears, fingers, nose, leg... you name it and she's kissing it :)

This is her last birthday as our ONLY daughter. Her 5th birthday I am sure will be full of hair pulling by our sweet Baby Girl! :) ha. We tell her all the time she's getting a sister and she honestly looks sad, like "I won't be the only girl anymore??" :)

Here are some of my fave pics of Miss Darlin' Daizy Dodd!

Pregnancy Workout

We all remember this post right?? Well, let me say, I have come a LONG way since April 27th (the day the post was written)!

April 27th I was 16 weeks pregnant, hardly showing and struggling with my weight gain... Today, I am 22.5 weeks pregnant (almost to 6 months) and I am embracing my new body more everyday! I am actually showing now, which makes me feel better!

I had my 21 week appt with my Dr last Tuesday, and he informed me I have gained 25 lbs so far! I almost fainted!! At my 16 week appt I had only gained 15 lbs! So you mean to tell me I gained 10 lbs in 5 weeks... HOLY bleep bleep!! And you all know me and you know I was a wreck, but I started thinking (more logically I suppose). I lost 26 lbs before I got pregnant right? YES! So it could always be worse. I could have started from my weight before I lost and I would really be in trouble!! My Dr wants to keep me below 40 lbs gained! I am not sure if that will happen. I am thinking I will probably hit more like 45, but I am ok with that. NOW! I wasn't before. If you had asked me 2 months ago, I would have said, "30 at the MOST!" But seeing as how I am already at 25 gained... well that's not really an option! :)

I know how I got it off the first time and I can do it again once my sweet girl arrives! It takes discipline but it works :)
I'm not gonna lie, working out has been tough because I have always done it to LOSE WEIGHT and now I am doing it for the healthy of my baby and myself! It's been quite an adjustment not pushing myself to exhaustion! But I think I have almost mastered it!

So what am I doing, how many days and for how long?

I am doing 45 -60 minutes of cardio at least 4 days a week! Now, have I done this every week of my pregnancy? NO! Some days I just didn't feel like doing anything so I listened to my body and I didn't! Some days I had to force myself to go and just do 30 minutes of cardio. But typically I am getting in 45-60 minutes of pretty intense cardio! On Wednesday's I am doing a one hour Body Pump class. I have been doing this for years so my Dr said it was ok. I just lowered the amount of weight I am using!
My plan was to keep running because I really started enjoying it and it was actually fun and I LIKE it (crazy right?)! But around week 16 or so, my bladder couldn't take it :) I would start running, get to around half a mile and think I was about to bust, so I would run to the bathroom only to sit down and have minimal tinkle (TMI, I know)! So I started running small distances with walking in between. Better, but not great on the bladder. And my right leg started getting numb, I didn't want to take any chances of falling, so I stopped running and am back to walking, elliptical and this new machine called the Arc Trainer. It's awesome. You step on two platforms and basically swing your legs back and forth. Kind of like your are skiing! It burns more calories than the elliptical... and it's tough but not too tough for me right now, so I am loving it! I try to switch these up because I get bored these days. So I usually walk 15-20 minutes, elliptical for 15-20 minutes and then get on the arc trainer for 15-20 minutes.

So why the 25 lb weight gain so far?

Well... it was really tough for me to transition into eating regularly when I found out I was pregnant. I went from dieting really strict to needing more calories for baby and didn't need to short step myself. I was only eating around 100-1200 calories a day when I was dieting. I knew I needed to step it up to around 2,000 for baby and me! Well, then came the pounds! It was hard for me. We started eating out again on the weekends. We had cut that out when I was on my strict diet! That my friends is where most of this weight (I feel like) has come from! I know people are bound to gain weight when they get pregnant, I mean hello, duh! I get that, but I attribute at least 10 of these lbs. And that makes me sad!

I hear other people that are around my size say they only gained 25 their entire pregnancy! I don't get discouraged because I wasn't sick ONE SINGLE TIME! Never had morning sickness, never had any kind of sickness! So I have been gaining from the get go :) No loss here!

So I wrote all this to say that I have continued working out for several reasons:

- Health of my daughter
- Health of myself
- Keep my body and heart in good condition
- Because I have heard delivery is easy if you workout
- I want to snap back into my HARD workout routine after QUICKLY

I know some people in my life had concerns about me continuing to run, workout, etc. But so far I have to say, it has to have been a benefit. I can't complain about one single thing with this pregnancy. Other than being tired, it's been PERFECT. I have had no complications and I am so thankful that this pregnancy has been so great! And this greatness is all thanks to God! He receives all the glory! Without Him, none of this would be possible. I have learned to lean on Him more and more when I worry about anything and I am so thankful for that.

Sorry I have been so MIA since my posting about our sweet little girl! I have been in kind of a blogging slump, not to mention extremely busy with life, house renovations, and work!

I first want to thank you for all of your sweet comments about our little girl! We couldn't be more thrilled about sharing our little journey with this sweet darling with all you wonderful ladies!

Although it's very hard, I am going to try to NOT make all of my posts from now until October all about babies :) I will do my best. But I make no promises :)

So today I am going to update you on what's been going on in my life... the craziness, the fun times and the baby! There will be some questions, rants, raves and praises guaranteed. Here we go...

For the past two weeks, these little guys (centipedes) have invaded our house...

We have called an exterminator, they came and sprayed, Adam (Hubs) got under the house and sprinkled this stuff that supposed to kill them off, we have used spray in the house ourselves, and yet these things won't stop invading my space! It could be worse I realize, could be roaches or spiders or ants, but seriously, they won't leave us alone! Any of you ladies had the same problem? HELP is MUCH needed! And I am deathly afraid that this guy is living somewhere under our house making these one inch babies that are crawling through our house and having parties... (I haven't seen him yet, but I am beginning to wonder!)

Ok moving on from bugs to air conditioning... I am 21 weeks pregnant right? YES! So can you imagine how my moods have been with 78 degree temperatures in our house AT NIGHT??? Yeah it's not good. Our house was built in the 60s and I am pretty sure the air conditioner was put in then too, it's old as dirt and nice and ugly! And did I mention... NOT COOLING??? I am about two seconds from flippin out if I have to go to bed HOT AS HADES one more night! Seriously! (ok, that was my rant!)

House renovations... well we have painted lots of things... planted some things... and the front of our house is ALMOST where we want it. A little landscaping left and we will be all ready for our big reveal of before and after of our home! We are slowly making this house our home! The master bathroom on the other hand is a different story. We have the wallpaper down but serious sheet rock was torn down so there are many repairs to be done, and Adam has to do those because well, I have no idea about walls and crap :)

It's going to be a while before our house is truly where I want it. But we are getting there slowly. I mean I keep reminding myself that I am blessed to even be able to own a home and that I am not a millionaire or EVEN KINDA CLOSE! So we have to do things on a schedule as we have the budget to do them! And with a baby on the way, all the budget can't go for house renovations... we have a babies room to decorate.

Speaking of... I can not decide what I want to do for decor in her room! I think I make a decision then I change my mind! I am driving myself crazy! Here are a few of my inspirations. I can't decide which way to go! Ahhhh, but it's fun looking!

I promise not to go too long without posting but if I am slacking I'm sorry! :) I am trying to keep up with all you lovelies! HUGS!
