Baby Shower Hostess Gifts-HELP!

Requesting advice!!! :)

I have my hometown baby shower in Alabama coming up on August 9th. It's being thrown by 8 hostesses! YEAH that's a lot! But I am so thankful that each of them volunteered to help throw my shower for Addison. I am beyond blessed to have such wonderful friends! I can't wait!

Now here is where your MUCH NEEDED ADVICE comes into play! With 8 hostesses obviously I can't go out and spend a lot on hostess gifts. But I want it to be something cute, unique and fun! I am open to any and all suggestions!! Obviously they are all ladies, but range in age from mid 20's to 60's! These ladies are good people and are doing a lot for me so I want to thank them in a classy, unique way!! Help me come up with a few ideas pretty please :)

I have a few idea floating around in this pregnant mind of mine :) But I want to hear what you ladies have done for your hostesses, gotten as a hostess gift or just what you think would be a great idea!! Thanks for helping this scatter brained pregnant woman out :)

I just had to do this for all of the hostesses for my baby showers... I ordered a lot of cute stationary/note cards from the Boatman Gellar online outlet and packaged it up cute. I can email you link if you want it. The prices are great at the warehouse -- like $20 for 50 notecards/envelopes.

A couple of the greatest hostess gifts I'v received are:

1. each hostess recieved a very pretty wine glass with instructions of "this can not be used until we are all together again" then when you are feeling up to it, cook dinner for all the ladies and have them bring back their wine glass!

2. A prayer journal - the guest of honor wrote a special prayer on the first page and and inspirational sayings through out the journal - the idea is that your supposed to write down your own thoughts and prayers.

For the wine glasses you could easily get a case of them at TJMaxx or something and the journals you could get at Hobby Lobby! I checked, they aren't on sale this week, but I bet they will be next week!
But there is the 40% off coupon this week! http://hobbylobby.com/weekly/weekly.cfm?page=2

What about something with a monogram like a cute bag. I always love getting monogrammed gifts!

I was a hostess of a shower, and my friend gave me and the other hostesses potted flowers/plants. I thought it was a good idea, and I'm sure they wern't too spendy.

ANYTHING on Etsy is always super cute. Monogrammed stationary, a cute small tote or tiny little makeup bag with a monogram for each lady would be cute. I saw these cute monogram coffee mugs and the person put a little bag of candies in it. Or even some candies and a small amount starbucks gift card.

personalized stationary is always great(redstamp.com has some fabulous options). A pretty picture frame with a sweet note inside it. Candles! Or even those prayer boxes my mom makes!

Hey lady! I haven't talked to you in forever :) How are you doing?

Hmm - I don't have a ton of good ideas for things to buy, but I love making gifts (you know how stingy, I mean frugal, I am!) You could make them each a fun flower pin (like I showed on my blog a while back) or I am attempting to make a jewelry travel case tonight for myself. If it goes well I could show how to do that. I also have a pattern for a fun little purse. You could pick out fabric for each person to match their personality. I just love making things, but not everyone has time or desire to do that either (which I totally understand). Also, when I hosted a shower back in the fall (there was like 9 or 10 of us) our hostess gift was a cute little container full of spiced tea and carmels, and honestly that was the best for me. I love spiced tea! Okay - that was really long. Let me know if you want to make things because I can always help :)

How about a cute personalized candy jar filled with candy? Something they can reuse and eat is always fabulous!!! Or maybe do fabulous candle in a great summer scent. My favorites right now are Yankee Peach Mango Salsa and Woodwick Lemon Sage. Can't wait to hear what you pick!!! XOXO

I always do a set of stationary for my hostesses....you can sometimes find it in bulk- like at the Boatman Geller outlet referred in the other comment- order it plain, split it up into quantities of 10 and have a local stationary shop print it for you- or I just print it myself- it's really not difficult!
The other default gift I do is a little mussy tussy style vase with some hydrangeas or verbinum in them- they make excellent vases for a kitchen counter, bathroom countertop or window sill-
Good Luck! Remember, according to Emily Post- it's the THOUGHT that counts- no true hostess is going to expect anything big!!! For our engagement party I gave the 20 couples a monogrammed tray that I did myself- they could tell that I put some thought into it and it didn't matter what it was- they all appreciated it-

I think you should get with The Preppy Polka Dot (she has a blogspot if you don't already know her) and she has done some really great things for me!! Email me and I can send you the info!!! Or go to my blog and find her on my blogroll.

I'm a fan of the basics - maybe a trip to the nail salon for a mani/pedi as a way to help them unwind after all the running around they've been doing.

I agree with Blissfully Enamored - Swoozies will have what you need! I also just saw these cute Betsey Johnson earrings on sale for $15.90 at Nordstrom (maybe for the younger ladies?)

Not sure what others have suggested, but go with something universal that all women like...

--manicures/pedicures
--bath products
--stationary
--monogrammed make-up bag
--cookbook (random, probably more appropriate for a kitchen shower)
--picture frame
--monogrammed soap
--monogrammed guest towels
--candles

Baby shower hostess gifts are just another way to show your appreciation for your baby shower. The hostess gift should really be thought through before you make or purchase your gift of choice. Thanks a lot.
