I had NO idea...

... all the things that would change the end of my pregnancy! I sailed through the first 34 weeks of this pregnancy with little to no problems. No sickness, no sleepless nights, etc! Well boy have things changed!! Here is my list of things that have changed since I hit the 34 week mark!! And now being at 36.5 weeks these things get harder and harder and some are funnier and funnier! Some are funny, some not so much, but all the same, I need to share with you just to prepare you if you have never been pregnant but will one day!! And it's funny to read even if you have been pregnant because I am sure you can sympathize :)

  • I can no longer paint my toenails. It's just funny to even try!
  • Going to the bathroom and wiping has just become plain comical!
  • Putting on pants, panties, skirts, etc is hysterical! I can't lift a leg without almost falling over!
  • Looking (or feeling) sexy! It's just not happening!
  • Getting in and out of the bath!! Someone really should video this (well if I am not naked!)
  • Hugging! I have to do the whole "ass out" hug thing! REALLY funny!
  • Even maternity clothes aren't fitting these days, my belly hangs over things and t shirts no longer cover it!
  • Walking, yep I am pretty much waddling and I said I never would!
  • Shoes... I said I would wear heels the whole 9 months, WRONG! My feet won't fit in any shoes, not even flats, so pretty much it's flip flops for this girl!
  • I think my thighs are as big as my waist once was! There's no baby in there why did they get big?
  • Numb finger tips! YEP my right hand finger tips are numb which makes for interesting typing, etc!
  • Emotions... they have been in check until now. I cry over ANY and EVERY thing!
  • Shopping, even THAT isn't fun anymore. It hurts to stand up too long. My hips literally feel like I am 100 years old! (So shopping online has been SUPER!)
  • HOT! I am constantly hot! My poor husband is freezing all the time. Our air stays on 68!
  • Sleeping, I am still sleeping ok! I do get up to tinkle about every 2-3 hours though!
  • Working, I sit at a desk all day! That has become COMPLETE misery! My mind isn't on work, it's on GET THIS BABY OUT!
  • Shaving, my legs still get shaved every day! HAVE TO! But it's quite uncomfortable so I do it FAST, therefore, more cuts!
  • Energy, some days I have lots, some days I have none! Just depends! Gets less and less everyday!

So pretty much my everyday chores and responsibilities are completely in chaos!! I don't do pain well so I will admit I am complaining a bit! But not much longer until I get to hold my sweet girl! I can't wait! But until then, I am enjoying time with my husband, just us! He has been wonderful through this whole pregnancy!! Tending to my every need and want! I definitely love him more everyday! God truly blessed me with an AMAZING husband!!

Here is my 36 week picture!! You will notice the swelling of the face and feet :)

You still look great! I worked all the way up until I had Olivia and it drove me crazy to sit at work so uncomfortable. And to top it all off I have a 45 mintue commute.

I know you think you aren't looking your hottest, but I think you are rocking being 36 weeks pregnant! Seriously - I hope I look half as good as you when I'm pregnant (but don't get any ideas, that is still a ways off)

Hope Addison comes sooner rather than later!

You look great!!! Thanks for the advice... I will be there in a couple of weeks... I have gone through my first 32 weeks with no signs of anything, but I see it will catch up :s

Krystyn said...

That last month is definitely tough. Especially when the clothes stop fitting and you don't want to buy any more. Just remember in a couple of weeks almost all of that goes away immediately.

Well, except the emotions...those are tough for a while.

So funny! I can't even imagine what that point is going to be like:-) Question - are those maternity jeans? If so, what are they? I have been looking everywhere for a cute pair of skinny maternity jeans!

What swelling? You still look beautiful. I can't even to imagine how hard some of those changes must be, but in the end, it'll all be worth it :)

Sus said...

Oh, you poor girl! I felt your pain about 2 months ago! Awful! The numb hand may be carpal tunnel-I got it at about 35 weeks-it sucks a**-sleeping made mine worse-Oh, but not long till Addison comes! You are almost there. :D

Sus said...

Well, mine did for a litle while. Then, I got tendonitis-in both wrists. My orthopaedist says the carpal tunnel helped the tendonitis because it's all swelling and inflammation related. Just take it easy on the repetitive hand motions/movements once the baby is born-and if you feel any pain, take Aleve and ice it, or it may get worse. You can take Aleve when breastfeeding too.

Surrounded By Boys said...

Too funny! Wait till you are 40 weeks PLUS, as I am! Talk about wanting to get this baby OUT!!! It's very frustrating!

Hang in there! These last few weeks will feel long, but they, too, will pass!

Gwen said...

I think you look FABULOUS!!! And I'm sorry you are developing the late term pregnancy issues (not being able to wipe and all) but just think...not much longer. :) And it will all be worth it when pretty little Addison makes her first apprearance. XOXO

Awww, you look so cute in your skinny jeans! :) You are carrying her really high! I just laughed and nodded throughout the entire list...been there and am well on my way to being at that point again soon! Warning, you get bigger much faster the second time around. :( I always heard that but thought if I kept my weight at the same as last time or lower that I'd be okay...well, my weight is right on target with where it was with my last baby...weighing the exact same...but I'm showing so much more at 23 weeks! :) You are almost there!!!

Thanks for sharing the information...I've heard the one about not being able to paint your toe nails before, but most of those are new to me. (I've never been preggers.) You look great to be 9 months! Almost there!!!

your glowing! you look beautiful! Almost there!!

The Shabby Princess said...

Shut up, you look fabulous!! And girl, you're wearing awesome jeans--they look so great on you!

I don't know if this is true, but, I've always heard that the "waddle" is caused by your pelvic bones shifting and preparing your body for childbirth--not because you're nessecarily big.

I can't wait to 'meet' her! You will be such an amazing mom, I can't even begin to tell you how lucky your daughter is. Seriously :)

OMG I sooo know what you mean. Sometimes the only way to get my little girl to take a bath is to take one with her and by the time I'm done I'm thinking what the heck was I thinking... it takes a lot to get up especially since my hands are numb too and it hurts to put any pressure on them when getting out.

I am cracking up about the whole wiping thing... it really is challenging especially when you can't feel your hands. My bladder has actually become totally weak and even though I finish tinkling I could stand up and feel like it's full again and sometimes I get a little surprise, needless to say I have to wear what my daughter calls a diaper :) it's quite embarrassing but you do what you gotta do.

Somehow I can still manage to barely paint my toenails although it's challenging and doesn't come out perfect.

BTW you still look great and I wish my swelling looked as good as yours. I feel like the state puff marshmellow!

Crystal said...

You look great!

My feet swelled so much with my first. I wish I had taken a picture! And I was bound and determined to have cute toenails at the hospital. I hiked my leg up on the counter a few days before Eli was born! I suggest going the pedicure route, but hey, you do what you gotta do!

When I was 38 weeks, I remember looking at Robby and saying, "I'm done!" and he was like, "With what?" and I said, "Being pregnant!!" Too bad Luke wasn't 'done'. He came exactly one week later.

Good luck!

LiLu said...

Awww, that's so cute that you can't paint your toenails! :-)
