Boobies

In 1986, I was 4, and HAD to have a Power Wheels Barbie Jammin' Jeep. Got it.

1989, I was 7, and HAD to have everything Guess and Esprit (and wouldn't be caught dead in Jordache). Got 'em.

In 1992, I was 10, and HAD to have EVERY color Umbro shorts. Got 'em.

In 1995, I was 13, and HAD to have Birkenstock clogs. Got 'em.

In 2000, I was 18, and I discovered Louis Vuitton and HAD to have the Bucket. Got it.

In 2001, I was 19, and HAD to have Lucky Brand jeans. Got 'em.

In 2003, I was 21, and HAD to have a Shih Tzu. Got him.

It's 2010, I am 27, and I WANT boobs!!!! (no picture necessary, right?)

When I was 12 I swore I would have breast implants one day! SWORE! Then I got to my teens and said I never wanted a boob job. Didn't need one then. I had nice B/C boobs. Perky ones at that.

Then came a dramatic weight loss in 2008... a baby in 2009. And well... my boobs are the same size or in the same place as they once were and I want them BACK!

So this is my public announcement that I want some boobies!

I want to wait until I finish having children until I have the surgery and obviously will have to wait until we are in a better place financially but I WANT them. Actually, I HAVE to HAVE them... and you can see from my pattern above I typically get what I want (within reason). Ok ok, i know this is the most expensive by oh say THOUSANDS of dollars but pretty pleeeease (my plea ot Adam)!

Clearly not on the top of our "to buy or invest in" list but hey a girl can dream of perky boobies again, right?

I wouldn't get them to "show off" my boobs or to fit a certain "standard" I would like to just have my good ol' perky C's again. I want to look good for my husband and I want to feel good when I look in the mirror. Those are the only two reasons I would ever even consider this (just FYI).

Anyway... I just needed to declare that publicly! How do you feel about breast implants?? Pro/Con? Let me hear it!

Before having a baby I was take them or leave them...I probably would never have thought I would want them, but didn't think differently of women who did have them. Now that I have had a baby and nursed, I SWEAR I will have mine worked on!! Either by enhancing them or just lifting them!!! I don't know where mine went!!!! I too want to wait until I am done having all of my kids and then I plan on giving the girls a much needed makeover!!

I love this! I am the EXACT same way!! I used to have perky boobs but after being pregnant and nursing this long ( still going at 18 months) my boobs have about had it.. they are saggy and not so perky and perfect. I want perky boobs I am only 22..haha.. My husband is all aboard and said he would buy me some when were done having children!!

I know what you mean girl.. I hope you get them!!

You crack me up! I'm the same way! My momma had the cutest little figure and had boobs, I did NOT get the boobs, but I got her height--thanks mom, for making me 5 feet tall!! Gr. Anyways, I always said I wanted implants, and my mom supported it--not like she was going to pay for it, but, she never tried to talk me out of it. Of course, I haven't gotten implants, but, a former co worker of mine did and after seeing how hard it was on her, and the fact that it was a botched job and a year later had to have it re-done, I'm not sure I would do it. I have nothing wrong with it, but, I'm a pain wuss, and don't know that I could do it!

I don't have kids yet and mine are still perky... but I'm already saving up for a new set for later in life. My aunt got a new pair about 7 years ago and they look so great... and therefore I am sold.

I know in the past I think implants were a lot more taboo... but now I think it's just a great beauty secret! Or not so much :)

I'm emailing you right now on this subject.

Haha, this is hilarious! I know how you feel! I never had boobs, and always said I would get some one day but I never really thought I had the guts, the surgery scared me. But I sucked it up and got implants about a year and a half ago, and I would do it again in a second! The surgery and recovery were not bad AT ALL, I would seriously recommend it to anyone who wants them! It really does make such a big difference in self confidence. Not to mention clothes fit so much better now that I'm more proportional! I'm a little worried about how they'll look after I'm finished having babies, but I figured I'd have to have some maintenance done at some point anyway, so I got them before we were even married.

oh gosh! If I could trade you mine, I would! I was always a little...busty, but then I gained some weight in law school and my Cs became Ds. I've lost the weight but not the boobs. I'd gladly trade mine in (though, I'm not sure I would characterize mine as perky?)

I think its always a matter of perspective! I'd kill to look in the mirror and not have my boobs make me look huge even after I dropped 10 lbs.

But you go girl!! My college roommate's mom just had them done and she's in her 50s! Never too late!

I was exactly like you pre-boobs (minus the losing weight and baby parts). If you want to email me, I can go over a TON of perks for getting them!! lilvonda {at} gmail. I absolutely think you should get it done!

Hi Lindsay, I don't know you, but I am very good friends with Lindsay Hump. I follow your blog and love it as I had a little girl back in September. I am still nursing... almost done b/c she is almost 1 year old and YES YES YES after my 2nd child, I am having them too. They are getting butchered with all the pulling, tugging, and everything else that happens. I can't wait for that moment even though I am not ready to be "done" with children, LOL. So... hang in there b/c it will be a great day when it happens. I feel the same way. Loved all your "wants". I forgot how many "wants" i had and got them too but the umbros cracked me up!

I have always said that I want to have mine done after I have kids! My sister just got a boob job. The surgery was a little tough on her, but hers look fantastic!

I could have wrote this exact post! I am due with my second in September but come January, Mama's getting some new girls! My boobs get entirely too big when pregnant and ESPECIALLY brest feeding, once I lose weight and start running a lot they are just deflated balloons and look awful in swimsuits. I can't wait! Hope you get what you want too :)

Used to say I never would, after breastfeeding, might consider. From my friends that have done it already, their dr.s have told him that it is totally okay to go on and have more babies and it will not effect breastfeeding...should be not problems. And the ones that come back...are not for problems, but "adjustements"!!!

How about a trade? I have DD's and would love to not have them!!

The Marquez Family said...

I think you should totally get them, you are wanting them for all the right reasons.

I am so surprised at how many mommies feel the same way, but then again boobies do change a lot after breast feeding. I too want to wait to get mine done after having all of my kids!

When I taught 3rd grade the 3 teachers I worked with all had something done to their boobies one year (1 reduction, 1 implant, 1 lift). None of them had a bad experience. I would say if you have a really good doctor to go for it!

Natalie said...

Ummm, have them and got them before kids. No problems whatsoevah ... love them and can't wait to get them redone. I'm going CARTOON CHARACTER BIG next time .... just kidding .. about the cartoon character size. Actually, while moving, I found my 'lifetime warranty' on the implants! HAHAHAHAHAAHAH!!!

I used to be TOTALLY against breast implants. My mom and sister both have them, and at the time I was furious with both of them about it. Now though, I think I've changed my mind. We haven't started having children yet, but I know once we do and my boobs go to hell I'll be singing a different tune.

I think only those of us in the "B or less" club understand what it's like to want 'em and not have 'em. From Umbros to implants, get whatever makes you feel great!

HaHa... Before I would agree that the time is right to have a baby I told my hub that he must promise me that one day when the kiddos are done poppin out he would take out a loan if he had to to give me boobs and a flat stomach.... now having been preggo I don't think I would want then enlarged that just plain painful.. but reconstructed and lifted thats what I'm talking bout'

I think every single woman has the right to like what she sees when she looks in the mirror. If buying herself some boobs can make that happen for her then I say go for it. My husband and I plan to start our family in the next couple of years and I've already made him promise that if I don't like my chestworks afterward I'll get no grief when I get them fixed/replaced.

Tabitha (From Single to Married) said...

oh man - just the other day I was noticing how mine have changed (I just stopped pumping a few weeks ago for my four month old). There's something about nursing that does your boobs in...

so I'm all for them. Whether I would do it myself, I don't know. Not because I'm morally opposed or anything, I'm just kind-of scared of the surgery! :)

Oh my gosh, I love this post! It cracks me up, and I could have written it myself! I definitely want some "boobies" as well, and I will get some in a few years! Good for you for not being ashamed, some people lie and try to hide it, hello...it's not really something you can hide! haha!

I skimmed through the comments and guess I might be the only con! I just think they are a waste of money. People are starving all over. Babies in Africa need formula. Missionaries need help financially to further the kingdom. I don't spend every dime we have only on necessities and I hope I'm not coming aross that way. But with such a large unnecessary (IMO) purchase, I can't help but think of what could be done with that money. I say, pray about it, see what God says.

BTW, I've never had perky boobs. Mine have always been too small to be perky! But I'm okay with them! :)

pam said...

To Crystal,
How disgusting that would put starving babies in Africa in the same category as missionaries furthering the kingdom. How revolting that you think religious fanaticism and belief in silly fairy tales is a good cause.
And you have the nerve to preface your argument by insinuating that others are small minded. You, Crystal, are the one with a small mind. god is a figment of your imagination.

I got my boobs done after I had my son and have NEVER regretted it. I say go for it. We sacrifice everything for our children, why not spoil ourselves? It's an "investment" in our happiness. It'll make you feel good for years to come. Just be sure to find a surgeon that is on the same page as you and has great recommendations.
